Terms & Conditions for Alpaca Walking

·         We are a licensed attraction with the Isle of Wight Council, Animal Welfare act 2006 Registration number 19/01567/PERFAN

·         We subscribe to the British Alpaca Society Code of Conduct for alpaca trekking

·         Once you have booked and paid for your allocated slot we can not offer refunds except in exceptional circumstances at our discretion

·         Everyone visiting our farm should be aware that all animals can carry pathogens that may be harmful to health, they must head the signage displayed on the farm and instructions given by their walk guide and thoroughly wash their hands prior to leaving our animal area in one of the hand-wash stations provided

·         All walkers must be in good health and any walker must declare any medical conditions that might preclude them taking part in alpaca or llama trekking activities

·         Pregnancy. People that are pregnant regularly take part in our alpaca treks however anyone who is or suspects they may be pregnant should contact a health care professional to take advice prior to booking a walk, trek or other activity

·         All participants walking an alpaca or llama individually must be over eight years of age

·         Children of five or over can walk an alpaca or llama on a double lead with a responsible adult

·         Children of four or less can take part in walks at our discretion but will not be able to lead an alpaca or llama

·         Everyone taking part or accompanying this activity should wear suitable stout footwear. Absolutely no open toed shoes or flip flops to be worn while trekking. It should be noted that we are a farm attraction and our trackways can be rough in places and the farm will be muddy at certain times of the year.

·         Anyone booking a trek agrees to listen and heed the guidance concerning health and safety given to them by their walk leader prior to taking part in their walk, our walk leaders have the right to refuse anyone that is not following our guidelines.

·         Please arrive in good time for your walking activity. Because our treks are group activities and we run a number through the day we cannot hold the start of a walk for more than ten minutes after your booked time.

·         We are happy to try and rearrange walks should the weather be inclement however you must phone us at the latest before 10am on the day of your walk and in busy periods we may not be able to re book your walk for some days. If we can’t rebook your walk because of availability and you have chosen to cancel we cannot offer a refund.

·         All voucher walks must be booked with us by phone Tel 01983 760900 and during busy periods please give us as much notice as possible to avoid disappointment.

·         If we have to cancel your walk due to any situation out of our control then we will offer a full refund or an opportunity to rebook at another time of your choosing
